是的，年輕帥氣的牛仔仍然需要幫忙，他在找一個溫暖的新家。

因為敝人的英文程度極廢，連全民英檢中級都考不過，
附上原文有誤譯或缺漏之處請多包涵

Cowboy is male, under 2 years old, possibly part pit bull.
牛仔是男生，不到兩歲，可能有些鬥犬血統
Cowboy needs a person who can train him and he needs a home where he can
get lots of exercise. He is very strong, smart, and affectionate.
牛仔需要可以訓練他的人和足夠他充分活動的家。他非常壯、既聰明又親切。
It seems like Cowboy was once a well-looked after pet.
But somehow he wound up on the streets and then got sick.
As the disease took its toll, Cowboy lay in one spot, too fevered to move,
outside the office of the Community College in Yilan for several days.
Cowboy was no one's responsibility; abandoned to fend for himself,
he had no one to care for him when he got sick,
and it was no one's duty to care for him either.
Many people who did notice him were scared of dogs, didn't know what to do,
and didn't have any place to keep a dog even if they wanted to help.
Most strays crawl off and die without anyone ever noticing,
but Cowboy somehow picked a very public place to die.
After a few days of watching Cowboy lie there,
someone at the school asked an A.I.R. volunteer to take him to a vet.
牛仔看似曾經過得不錯，但不知為何他緊張的跑上街而後生病了，病發之後，
牛仔躺在宜蘭社區大學外某處發高燒動彈不得好幾天，牛仔不是任何人的責任；
他自己放棄供養，當他生病時沒有人照顧，而且也沒有人有義務照顧他。
許多怕狗的人曾經注意到他，不知道該怎麼做，就算想幫忙也根本沒地方養狗，
流浪狗大多在無人注意之下掙扎而死，只是牛仔不管怎樣選了一個公開的地方。
看了牛仔躺在那幾天後，校內的某人要求一位A.I.R.志工帶他去看獸醫。

Although A.I.R. is not a shelter and was not founded for the purpose of taking
in strays, the volunteer could see that this dog was obviously in trouble and felt
that Cowboy couldn't just be ignored, left there to die.
即便A.I.R.不是收容所，基本上也沒有收容流浪動物的打算，這位志工明白
這隻狗狗顯然有麻煩，而且覺得牛仔不能就這樣被忽略，丟在那兒等死。

So Cowboy was taken to the vet. Below is Cowboy with a high fever, just back from the vet.
所以牛仔被帶去看醫生了。下圖是剛剛從獸醫師那回來，發高燒的牛仔。
The vet diagnosed Cowboy with canine distemper.
Distemper is a virus that kills most of the dogs who catch it.
There is a serum that can be injected to help dogs fight the disease,
however the serum is very expensive; it costs thousands of NT dollars.
Despite the cost, we decided to give the serum a try.
At the time we still weren't sure where the money would come from,
as A.I.R.'s current funds were collected for CNR,
but the serum had to be started right away if it was going to be effective.
醫生診斷牛仔得了犬瘟熱。犬溫熱是一種會殺了大部分得病狗狗的病毒。
注射疫苗可以幫助狗狗抵抗這種疾病，但是疫苗很貴；要價一千多元新台幣。
不管這筆開銷，我們決定試試看疫苗。同時我們還是不確定錢要從哪來，
因為A.I.R.目前的基金是募來做CNR用，不過如果要讓疫苗有用就得馬上打針。

When they heard about his plight, many students and faculty of the
Yilan Community College generously donated money specifically to help
buy Cowboy's medicine. Other kind A.I.R. supporters also donated specifically
to help cover the cost of Cowboy's medicine. Thank you so much to all who
donated for his medicine:
the serum seems to have worked wondersas Cowboy is now a different dog,
full of life and spunk.
當他們聽說這個境況，好多宜蘭社區大學的學生和教職員慷慨地捐錢特別幫忙
買牛仔的藥。其他善心的A.I.R.支援者也特別捐助分攤牛仔醫藥的花費。
萬分地感謝所有捐助他藥費的人︰疫苗看起來發揮了奇效，讓牛仔現在成了不
一樣的狗，渾身生命和元氣。
After his rescue, another A.I.R. volunteer gave Cowboy a temporary home
for two weeks in a 4th floor apartment. There Cowboy was free to roam the rooms,
and he did really well in that environment. At night his caregiver even let him sleep
in the bedroom so he could take in some air-conditioning. This treatment seems to
have helped Cowboy's fever and his morale, and the personal care helped him just as
much as the medicine did.
救了他之後，另一位A.I.R.志工給牛仔為期兩週暫時的家，在一間公寓的4樓裡。
在那牛仔可以漫遊在屋裡，而且他在那個環境裡恢復得很棒。
他的照料者甚至讓他晚上睡在臥室裡吹點冷氣。
這個待遇好像幫了牛仔的發燒和鬥志一把，而且私人照顧的助益就如同給藥一樣。
During that time, Cowboy proved himself to be quiet, calm, and loving.
He began to play as his health improved and his caregiver found him to
be quite talented. He discovered that Cowboy already knew how to ride a scooter;
this dog had obviously been someone's pet once upon a time.
His first caregiver also discovered that Cowboy cringed at raised arms,
so it was obvious that he had been hit in the past.
(Cowboy has probably seen a lot in his less than 2 years of life.)
在那段時光裡，牛仔自己證明他安靜、沈穩又可愛。
他的健康改善之後就開始玩耍，而照料者他還蠻聰明的。
他發現牛仔已經知道怎麼搭機車；這隻狗以前顯然是誰的寵物。
他的首位照料者也發覺牛仔畏懼舉起的手臂，所以他很明顯以前被打過。
(牛仔可能在他不到兩歲的生命中看過很多次)

Now Cowboy really enjoys scooter rides and playing fetch the ball.
He'll jump onto the scooter and actually sit on the seat when he's waiting to
go for a ride. When playing ball, he does some really amazing
four-paws-off-the-ground catches in midair!

We think he has the makings of an excellent frisbee dog!
牛仔現在真的很喜愛搭機車和玩接球。在等著出去兜風的時候，他會跳上機車然後在位子上坐好。玩球的時候，他真的會四腳離地，令人驚喜的空中接球。
(相機很難拍到，不過這邊試拍了一張！︰)我們覺得他天生是接飛盤狗的一塊絕佳料子！Cowboy has proved himself to be extremely loyal and faithful. He was very
attached to his first caregiver, but that person was already leaving Taiwan.
When that person left, Cowboy was moved to a new safe place.
On his first day at the new place, his chain broke, and Cowboy was free to
wander off, yet he stayed put for many hours,waiting faithfully for someone to
come back to him.
牛仔證明了他極度忠心與忠誠。他很親他的第一位照料者，但是那人已經離開台灣了。當他離開，牛仔被遷到新的安置處。在新家的第一天，他的鍊子斷了，他可以自由的流浪，但是他留下來很久，忠誠的等人回來。

What Cowboy needs now is someone to love: a person who has the time to
play with him and to take him cruising on a scooter, and work with him to give
him some training.
牛仔現在需要去愛某個人︰有時間陪他玩和帶他騎機車兜風的人，而且要陪著他給他一些訓練。
He's really strong and full of life these days, and he has so much love to give.
He's a joy to behold.
這些日子他真的又壯又充滿生命力，他有好多愛要付出。看著他是種快樂。

Cowboy is lucky and strong to have survived distemper, because distemper
is a disease that is often fatal. Although the prognosis for distemper is grim,
A.I.R. currently has one other dog that has survived distemper, and
Animals Taiwan's record is 4 distemper survivors out of 6.
牛仔幸運並強韌而熬過犬瘟熱，因為犬瘟認通常是致命的疾病。
即使為了犬瘟熱預後很糟糕，A.I.R.目前有另一隻倖存於犬瘟熱的狗，
而動物台灣的紀錄是六隻病犬中有四隻存活下來。
Distemper is rampant in Taiwan and highly contagious from dog to dog,
but a simple yearly vaccination protects them.
If you've got dogs which have been immunized within this past year,
they should be at no risk.
If you'd like to immunize your dogs against this and other diseases,
take them to the vet and ask for the 8 in 1 vaccination.
犬瘟熱在台灣蔓延,而且在狗與狗之間有高度(接觸)傳染性,但是每年打一次疫苗
就能輕易的預防它,如果你今年已經讓狗狗免疫了,就不必擔心他們。
如果你喜歡讓你的狗狗對狗瘟及其他疾病免疫,帶他們去獸醫診所打8合1疫苗。
Canine distemper cannot be passed to people or to cats.
